The Gecko Queen is one of Gulfport’s most unique and beloved traditions. Part community ambassador, part creative spirit, and fully Gulfport, the Gecko Queen represents the energy, inclusivity, humor, and heart that make this waterfront arts town unlike anywhere else.
Each year during GeckoWorld, Gulfport residents nominate community-minded individuals who embody the city’s vibrant personality and passion for bringing people together. From festivals and parades to local appearances and special events, the Gecko Queen serves as a spirited representative of Gulfport throughout the year.
This isn’t a traditional pageant. It’s Gulfport.
How to Apply for Gecko Queen
Think you have what it takes to represent Gulfport with creativity, charisma, kindness, and a little gecko-sized sparkle?
The Gulfport Merchants Chamber is now accepting nominations for the next Gecko Queen. Applicants must:
- Be 21 years of age or older
- Have been a Gulfport resident within the last 12 months
- Be ready to serve as a positive community ambassador
- Embrace the fun, quirky spirit of Gulfport
Submissions should include:
- A creative letter of submission
- Information about yourself
- Why you would make a great Gecko Queen
- At least three photos
Vote for Gulfport’s Next Gecko Queen
Once nominations close, the community will help crown Gulfport’s next Gecko Queen through public voting.
Votes may be cast in person at the following Gulfport locations:
- Gulfport Corner Store
- Gulf Orchids
- Gulfport Beach Bazaar
