The GMC Launches a Monthly Art Exhibition in Gulfport, FL

Join the Gulfport Merchants Chamber for the Monthly Art Exhibition featuring Irina Lapin as she presents “Waiting”. The opening reception takes place on March 21st from 4pm to 6 pm in Gulfport, Florida at the Gulfport Welcome Center located at 5317 Gulfport Blvd with the exhibit running through March 17th. Meet the featured artist, explore the exhibition, and enjoy an evening dedicated to local art and community connection.

Irina Lapin is a self-taught artist drawn to stillness, reflection and the unnoticed moments between things. Her work has grown through careful observation and an ongoing curiosity about how time feels in its quieter states. “I paint from my own photographs, taken mostly when traveling. I love to focus on the subtle gestures, pauses, and images that hold the quiet tension of waiting, presence and transitions”.

“Much of my work lives in the space of waiting. I’m interested in the pauses between action, the time before a conversation starts, the quiet of anticipation, and the moments that often pass unnoticed, yet they carry a subtle emotional weight. By slowing them down and holding them in an image, I try to give form to the otherwise invisible rhythms of time.”

The Gulfport Merchants Chamber (GMC) invites you to experience our Monthly Art Exhibition in Gulfport, FL. This new program will provide an ongoing spotlight for talented local artists while celebrating Gulfport’s vibrant arts community.

This monthly solo art show will feature a different artist each month at the GMC Welcome Center on Gulfport Boulevard. The show will kick off with an opening reception on the third Saturday of each month, from 4 to 6 PM and offers artists an additional location within our community to sell your art and gain exposure. The best part? This opportunity is completely free for GMC artist members, with 100% of all proceeds going directly to the artists.

This event is part of GMC’s continuing commitment to supporting and showcasing artists in Gulfport. Displaying your work at the Welcome Center is just one of the many perks of being a GMC Artist Member.
