he Gulfport Merchants Chamber is proud to announce that applications for the 2026 GeckoWorld Grant are officially open, providing an opportunity for nonprofits and community-focused organizations to receive funding for projects that make a meaningful impact in Gulfport.
Funded through proceeds from the Chamber’s signature GeckoWorld events—including GeckoFest, the Gecko Crawl, and the Gecko Ball—the grant program is designed to give back directly to the community that makes these events so special. Each year, funds raised through these celebrations are reinvested into organizations working to strengthen Gulfport through arts, outreach, education, and community-driven initiatives.
The GeckoWorld Grant has supported a wide range of local nonprofits, from organizations focused on environmental stewardship and community wellness to those enhancing arts and cultural experiences throughout the city. Past recipients, including groups like the Tampa Bay Butterfly Foundation, CANDL Corp, and the Sonia Plotnick Foundation, reflect the diverse and impactful work happening across Gulfport.
“The GeckoWorld Grant is one of the most meaningful ways we give back to the community,” said Scott Linde, President of the Gulfport Merchants Chamber. “It allows us to support organizations that are doing important work and creating lasting impact right here in Gulfport.”
Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and community groups whose work directly benefits the Gulfport community. Projects should demonstrate clear local impact and align with the Chamber’s mission to support a vibrant, connected, and thriving city.
