What an amazing community we share! Over the past several weeks, we have witnessed businesses and neighbors come together to support one another, helping to rebuild our homes and establishments in hopes of returning to the Gulfport we all know and love. Thank you to everyone who has gone above and beyond to help with this restoration. We would like to give a special shout-out to the City of Gulfport, who, while doing a stellar job of storm recovery, continues to offer us–the business community–amazing assistance and cooperation without which we would not be able to do the things we are sharing with you here.
Gulfport Tuesday Fresh Market is continuing on a limited basis. Beginning this Tuesday, November 19, the Tuesday Fresh Market will expand to include the waterfront block on Beach Boulevard. Block 4 near the library will re-open soon, we are working closely with the City toward a resolution expected later this year.
Art Walk and Indie Faire, which are held on the first Friday and third Saturday, will continue early next year. We know…we miss them too and are looking forward to being back in business. Unfortunately, Helene and Milton caused significant damage to the electric poles needed to support a night market. The City of Gulfport is actively working on remediating this so our night markets can return.
Businesses on Beach Boulevard and beyond are starting to return to normal operations. We are excited to announce a “Welcome back Gulfport businesses” special daytime celebration that will showcase our brick and mortars in the downtown and surrounding areas that will be called Gulfport’s heARTful Holiday Market.
The Gulfport Fine Arts Festival is still on for February 8 and 9, but the venue has changed from Veteran’s Park to the north end of Clymer Park. The application deadline has been extended to November 30, 2024.
The Pink Flamingo Tour of Homes and Gulfport Get Rescued will happen on their regular dates. We have some “historic” new ideas for the Pink Flamingo Home Tour, so stand by.
