Gulfport’s 16th annual GeckoFest promises a full day of free family-friendly fun on Saturday, September 3rd from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. The streets of the waterfront village will be filled with live music on two stages, hundreds of food, art and craft vendors, kids’ activities, and up close and personal street performances by a bevy of acrobats, magicians, daredevils, dancers, aerialists, escape artists, fire eaters, balloon artists and costumed characters.

The geckos will be visualized and created according to each artist’s individual concept. All seven geckos can be seen for the first time at the Second Annual Gecko Artists’ Show during an opening reception on Friday, August 5th at the Catherine Hickman Theater (5501 27th Avenue South) from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

The Gulfport Tuesday Fresh Market will be changing to summer hours starting with the May 3rd market. Through September, the summer hours will be 9am-2pm. The Gulfport Tuesday Fresh Market is one of the few markets that remains open all summer.
