Kathleen Robbins will speak and take questions from audience members during a program on Thursday, April 6. The event begins at 7pm at the Gulfport Public Library (5501 28th Avenue South).
Robbins is a Lesbian transgendered woman who has “experienced life ‘from both sides now!” In her earlier life she graduated from the Air Force Academy, flew in Vietnam, and had a beautiful wife and son. Her wife died after 20 years of marriage, her son went off to college and she transitioned the next year, 1990, and never looked back.
In the past 25 years, she was CEO of a small cell phone company, completed a doctor of ministry degree, served in the Peace Corps in Botswana, and lived in Haiti for 15 months, co-founding an economic development program there that continues today. She served as Executive Director of a small non-profit foundation in Champaign, Illinois for six years and retired at the end of 2016. She is currently running for the Board of Trustees at Parkland College.
The event is sponsored by the LGBTQ Resource Center. For more information, contact 727-893-1073.
